DURHAM, N.C., (Feb 18, 2014) –
SciMetrika, LLC announced that Susan Acker-Walsh has been promoted to
President. In this role, she assumes accountability for driving corporate
strategy and directly managing all corporate and programmatic departments and
divisions.
Since joining the company in the first quarter of 2013, Ms. Acker-Walsh has added substantial rigor to the day-to-day operations of the company, and has undertaken evolving the corporate strategic plan.
“Susan is a proven leader in the government services industry,” said Jean Orelien, DrPH, who has served as the CEO and President since founding the company in 2001. “By promoting Susan to President, we are leveraging her substantial business acumen and allowing me to focus more of my time on evolving our markets and service offerings.” Dr. Orelien, who retains his CEO title, continues, “I have every confidence in Susan’s ability to lead this company, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with her in her expanded capacity.”
Ms. Acker-Walsh has served in executive leadership roles in both publicly-traded and privately-held government services businesses, and has considerable experience managing corporate operations and accelerating and sustaining business growth objectives. “This is an important time in SciMetrika’s growth story, and I am grateful for Dr. Orelien’s confidence in my abilities,” said Ms. Acker-Walsh. “We have much to accomplish this year, and I am fortunate to be leading a talented team capable of focusing on the fewest, most important initiatives required for our success.”
Prior to joining SciMetrika, Ms. Acker-Walsh served as a vice president and director at SRA International, where she planned, organized, and directed business activities of SRA’s Civil Government Group unit. She joined SRA by virtue of their acquisition of Constella Group, LLC, which she first joined in 1997 and helped grow from $5M to nearly $200M, overseeing M&A and strategic planning and providing high level management of several P&L and organizational functions. As CEO and President of an environmental health and safety company she started in 2000, she raised $20M in venture backed funding and grew the firm to a peak of 80 staff, an accomplishment which earned her the 2000 Regional Finalist Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of Year award.
The earned an MBA from the University of North Carolina, Kenan-Flagler Business School, and a certification through the Business Coach Institute, North Carolina State University.
