Ten Leads in Two Days--CED Tech Venture Conference a Big Win for PRSONAS

Guest Post By David Rose, CEO, PRSONAS

I have this recurring dream—ok maybe it’s a nightmare.  I’m flying through space and all these beautiful objects with “Opportunity” written across them in big gold letters keep swirling past.   But my arms are made of lead; I can barely reach out and grab one—

I wake up in cold sweat and realize that as CEO of a startup, that’s pretty much my average day.

Since we officially launched PRSONAS in July, I’ve faced an endless stream of tough decisions about where to invest our LIMITED time and budget.  Thank goodness I didn’t let last month’s CED Tech Venture Conference fly past.  Putting PRSONAS front and center at the two day Raleigh, NC gathering was one of the best decisions I’ve made.

While the conference was primarily designed to network startups with angel investors, it paid off for our company in several other BIG WAYS.
In two days, the custom virtual presenter we created as welcoming and guidance tools for CED made a big impression on 600 plus conference attendees.  As a result, our young company generated:

  •         More than 100 in-depth interactions
  •         10 new potential partner and solid customer leads
  •         A radio interview with Business Radio X
  •         A speaking invitation at a prestigious industry conference
  •         An invitation to write this guest blog you’re reading right now
  •         Timely and relevant material for three company generated blogs and 10 social media posts which will be read and shared for weeks to come.

That’s a lot to accomplish for a two day event! If only all my decisions turned out that well, I’d sleep a lot better at night.

The bottom line is this: in a startup, the sky may be the limit long term, but day to day there are hard and fast limits everywhere you turn.   Entrepreneurs quickly become editors, discarding more than they keep, saying “No” ten times to every “Yes”. You have to be selective—very selective.

At PRSONAS we’re always on the lookout for value-rich opportunities that will help us tell our company story in a big way.   The CED Tech Venture Conference proved to be a great one.

Thanks for the great exposure, CED.    Looking forward to next year!
