Eight CED Members Named to TBJ "Fast 50" List

Each year, 50 Triangle companies are recognized by the Triangle Business Journal as a "Fast 50" company for accelerated growth in the region. Eight CED members were named to the 2012 Fast 50 list, and will be presented with an award at an event held on November 15, 2012 in Research Triangle Park.

The CED members receiving the award are: BioResource International, Inc.; Bronto Software; Clarkston Consulting; Clinipace Worldwide; Drug Safety Alliance, Inc.; Overture Networks, Inc.; Prometheus Group; and SciMetrika LLC.

"It is a great honor to be a named a Fast 50 Winner," said Joe Colopy, CEO and Founder of Bronto Software. "This award reflects the incredible efforts of our employees, vision of our leadership team, and the continual support from CED in expanding the entrepreneurial environment here in the Triangle."

Mr. Colopy was a recent presenter at the CED Tech Venture Conference, and described Bronto Software as a growth-focused organization. The company is expanding -- their team grew from 84 employees in 2010 to 140 employees today (and they are actively recruiting for 20 more positions). Though hiring information indicates a quickly growing company, the Fast 50 winners were selected on different criteria.

According to the Triangle Business Journal, the Fast 50 winners were selected and ranked based on a formula that counts revenue growth and profitability in the preceding three years (2009-2011). The numbers are crunched and analyzed by PricewaterhouseCoopers, a Fast 50 partner.

“These winners represent organizations who have been champions of growth in the Triangle,” said Bryan Hamilton, publisher of Triangle Business Journal in a statement yesterday. “These leaders are doing all they can to add jobs and inject cash into our community and we’re so thankful for it.”

CED congratulates the recipients of the Fast 50 Award, and looks forward to the November 15th event.

Note: Joe Colopy is a member of the CED Board of Directors
