Citrix to add 337 jobs in Raleigh in next 5 years

CED Mentor Partner Citrix Systems Inc. is expanding its Data Sharing Group, adding 337 new jobs over the next five years in their offices in downtown Raleigh. The company will receive an incentive from the city of Raleigh.

Citrix Systems (Nasdaq: CTXS) provides virtual computing solutions. In October 2011, Citrix acquired ShareFile, which became the Data Sharing Group. ShareFile was founded by Jesse Lipson and a partner in November of 2005, and Lipson remains with Citrix as the head of the Data Sharing Group.

Citrix already employs 130 people in Raleigh. The average salary of the new jobs is projected at more than $70,000. The state Economic Investment Committee voted Thursday morning to award a Job Development Investment Grant to Citrix, which are only awarded to projects whose benefits exceed the costs to the state and which would not be undertaken in NC without the grant.
