Durham launches "Smoffice" as the world's smallest office

The creators of Startup Stampede, a successful program that helped attract more than 15 small businesses to Durham, are at it again. This time, they are offering a free workspace to one lucky small business at the "Smoffice," billed by its creators as the "world's smallest office."

Adam Klein, director of strategic initiatives at the Durham Chamber of Commerce, and Matthew Coppedge, director of marketing & communications at Downtown Durham, Inc. came up with this initiative as a "way to stay fresh."

A major benefit to companies seeking office space is that The Smoffice, located inside of Beyu Cafe in downtown Durham, will be free to the winning company for a six-month period.

True to its bill line, the Smoffice is really, really small. Check out the video clip below to get a sense of the space, as Klein and Coppedge take us on a tour of the workspace.

Applications open on Feb. 29 and close on March 30. The winner will be announced on April 13, move in on April 30, and exit the space on Halloween.

To apply, or for more information, review information at the Durham Chamber of Commerce website.
