The week prior to the CED Life Science Conference, our friends over at the Institute for Emerging Issues at NC State University are hosting a forum on Generation Z and its future role in North Carolina. The 27th annual Emerging Issues Forum is formally titled Investing in Gen Z: Guaranteeing Our ROI, and features prominent speakers from North Carolina and the region at-large.
We are particularly excited to hear Andrew Yang, the founder of Venture for America, Ted Zoller, director of the center for entrepreneurial studies at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School, and Madhu Beriwal, CEO of IEM, Inc. discuss the future of employment and business-growth in the region as related to young entrepreneurs.
In addition, we expect an impressive discussion of Generation Z as "Generation Flux" during Robert Safian's presentation of the same name. Safian is the editor and managing director of Fast Company Magazine, and recently published a great piece about entrepreneurship in the latest generation of entrepreneurs.
Generation Z is thought to be the most highly connected and globally aware group in history. In addition, the members of this generation are characteristically digitally savvy. It goes without saying that this generation is comprised of many future leaders and represents the future of North Carolina.
Is your business prepared for this unique generation of workers and consumers who think and interact with the world in a radically different way than the generations that have come before?
The conversations and presentations at the Emerging Issues Forum are bound to be of interest to those who attend. You can check out more details about the Forum, scheduled for February 6 & 7, 2012, at the Institute for Emerging Issues website, http://www.ncsu.edu/iei/.
