Building a SaaS Company from Funding through IPO

Submitted by South Cap

Southern Capitol Ventures is hosting a software-as-a-service (SaaS) event as part of our Entrepreneur's Series program on Monday, Sept 19t beginning at 1:30pm: http://eseriesseptember2011.eventbrite.com/

SaaS companies continue to be a huge growth market in the IT sector and more entrepreneurs are building their start-ups to serve the software on a subscription basis (as a service).  Software delivered as a service has many benefits to both company and customer including: more affordable, fast implementation, and great visibility into customers.

Laura Lederman, who is co-head of technology investing at William Blair & Co. will lead off with an overview of what she sees in the market, followed by a panel of 4 successful SaaS company entrepreneurs/leaders discussing their approaches to building a SaaS company.  Panelists are:

Jesse Lipson, Founder/CEO, ShareFile
David Spitz, President, ChannelAdvisor
Steve Wiehe, CEO, SciQuest (NASDAQ: SQI)
Joe Colopy, CEO, Bronto

After the entrepreneurs, we will have a short panel of VC's who actively invest in SaaS companies:

Jason Trevisan, Polaris Venture Partners
Roger Krakoff, Cloud Capital Partners
Michael Ramich, Frontier Capital
Paul Grim, Sunbridge Partners

Here's a link to the event:  http://eseriesseptember2011.eventbrite.com/
Hope to see everyone there!
