Agile Sciences lands $545,000 grant for anti-bacterial compounds

Agile Sciences, a startup that is developing treatments targeting drug-resistant bacterial infections, has secured a $545,000 federal grant.

The Phase I award came through the Small Business Innovation Research program.
Agile is commercializing technology developed by Dr. Christian Melander and Dr. John Cavanagh at N.C. State. “This award provides key support and validation of the Agile Sciences’ pharmaceutical value proposition, which is a top priority for our company,” said Agile Chief Executive Officer Keith Stoneback.
