Creating a Facebook Landing Page

Tired of a simple profile picture and description for your company’s Facebook page? Creating a custom landing page to welcome your visitors is easier than you think with Wildfire Interactive iFrames app for Facebook. All you need is admin access to your company’s Facebook page, the iFrames app and a little creativity.

#1. Design your Landing Page:
Your landing page design should be 520 px by approximately 450 px. The 520 px width is important so your visitors will not have to scroll horizontally to see your design. In terms of height, you can make it shorter or longer depending on your design. I chose a height of 450 px so visitors would not have to scroll down to see the full design.

 #2. Install Your App:
After you have finished your landing page and saved it, login to Facebook and type in ‘Wildfire’s iFrames for pages’ in the search bar. Click on the app in the search window and install.

The app will ask for permission to access your basic information.

After you select ‘allow’ it will ask you to select the page you would like to add the application to. Select your company’s page and click ‘add iFrames.’

After you have installed the app, it will ask you for contact information. Enter the appropriate contact information and hit ‘submit.’

The app will then bring you to a dashboard that controls the image on your welcome page. For the first section, leave the fan gate on. For the next two sections, upload the welcome page you designed. The Wildfire app allows you to upload two separate images, one for fans and one for visitors. You can choose to have one design for fans and one for visitors or you can simply use the same design for both. Upload your image or images and hit the ‘save’ button.

#3. Change your Facebook page Settings:
You have now successfully uploaded a welcome page. However, you are not done yet. There is one more step you have to take to ensure that visitors will land on your newly created welcome page.  To do this, go to your company’s page and click the ‘edit page’ button located in the top right corner.

This will bring you to a page where you can adjust various settings. On the left hand side of the page, select the option that says ‘Manage Permissions.’ Within this tab you will be able to change the default landing page to your newly created welcome page. Select the ‘Welcome’ page and click save.

Now you have successfully created a custom welcome page for your company! We would love to see what your welcome page looks like. Feel free to comment and show us some of your designs!
