Criteria for selection and ranking: Companies are ranked by revenue in the previous year. Excluded from the ranking are subsidiaries, nonprofits, financial services companies, and health care providers such as hospitals and doctors’ offices. At a minimum, 50 percent of the ownership must be in-state for foreign-owned and private equity-owned companies.
