PlotWatt, a Durham-based smartgrid start-up, announced on Thursday that it raised $1 million of venture funding in an initial seed round. In addition, PlotWatt was recently named a winner of the GE Ecomagination Challenge and a $100,000 grant.
PlotWatt's software gives individuals and businesses the power to better monitor and analyze their energy usage, and in turn, save money. They estimate a 10 percent cost savings among companies utilizing their PlotWatt Commercial Energy Platform.
