Semprius, a Durham-based start-up focusing on solar power, announced last Thursday that it raised $20.6 million from seven investors in new venture funding and is looking for an additional $9.6 million. Intersouth Partners, a local VC fund, is listed as one of the investors.
Semprius is focused on bringing cost savings to the solar power market by increasing efficiency during the capturing process through solar panels. The funding helps Semprius continue to develop their technology, and potentially apply it across a wider range of applications, such as solar modules, electronic displays and wireless devices.
