Wake Technical Community College is one of 5 NC community colleges to receive funding from a grant through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The grant is part of a national initiative to boost graduation rates in our community colleges. The other four participating NC schools are Guilford Tech, Central Piedmont, Martin and Davidson community colleges.
The grant is set to unfold over a 5 year horizon, with at least $500,000 allocated to the 5 NC schools to launch the initiative. Schools from three other states were chosen to participate in the program; community colleges from Florida, Ohio, and Texas were selected as grant recipients.
