Venture Industry On the Rise in 2011?

According to the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) and Dow Jones VentureSource, the venture industry is looking up in 2011. The information was gathered from a survey of 330 VC’s and 180 executives in December. The majority of VC’s anticipate more venture-backed companies and an increase in overall dollars invested in the upcoming year.

Venture-backed executives predict an increase in hiring, selling, and cash inflow for the next year. These results point to an overarching optimism about the future of our economy and may be a sign of economic growth and innovation on the horizon.

NVCA is a longstanding CED member. Mark Heesen, the NVCA President, is a repeat speaker at CED’s “The State of Venture Capital Program and Private Dinner.”
