John Uhrin, a long-time CED member and supporter, recently joined the Credit Suisse Customized Fund Investment Group to help Credit Suisse progress the NC Innovation Fund. The Credit Suisse NC Innovation Fund exists to help foster successful entrepreneurial ventures in North Carolina and produce strong returns for their investors. Many startups have great ideas and aspirations, but don’t have the funds to turn an idea into a product; the NC Innovation Fund aims to provide this missing piece of the puzzle.
Uhrin, a former venture partner with Harbert Management Corporation, regularly participates in CED’s Venture and Biotech / Life Science conferences as a sponsor and attendee. He brings 25 years of life science and healthcare industry experience to the NC Innovation Fund team. In his new role, Uhrin’s primary responsibilities include “executing the programmatic and investment activities” of the fund. The investment portfolio totals $232.3M and is primarily focused on healthcare, clean energy, and technology.
