The Cherokee-McDonough Challenge is now accepting applications for participation in its 2014 accelerator program. The Challenge supports entrepreneurs who are addressing significant environmental challenges using viable, scalable business models. The application cycle is open now through April 15th (www.cherokeechallenge.com).
For the fourth year, the Challenge will invest in up to five environmental start-ups. Each venture will receive:
- Hands-on mentoring from Cherokee and an Advisory Committee of experienced entrepreneurs and investors
- An opportunity to present to other investors and the public at a showcase finale $20,000 in seed funding
- Office space for three months in Raleigh, NC (a focal point in the renowned Research Triangle)
- Assistance with incorporation, accounting and tax compliance, IP strategy, commercialization strategy, preparing fundraising documents and communicating effectively
