Biogen Idec CEO George A. Scangos Joins Headline Speakers at CED Life Science Conference 2014



          Joins FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg, among other notable speakers

DURHAM, NC, January 23, 2014 -- George A. Scangos, PhD, CEO of Biogen Idec has been announced as a headline speaker for the CED Life Science Conference 2014. He is scheduled to deliver a Leadership Perspective on the state of the industry at the conference, which takes place February 26 – 27, 2014 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, NC.

Scangos joins other prominent speakers, including Margaret Hamburg, Commissioner of the FDA, Christopher Austin, Director of NIH’s National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, and Clayton Christensen, Harvard Business School Professor and author of The Innovator’s Dilemma. The CED Life Science Conference 2014, produced in partnership with the North Carolina Biotechnology Center and North Carolina Biosciences Organization (NCBIO), is the southeast’s largest industry gathering.  This year’s theme is Healthcare in 2020, a look ahead to the anticipated convergence of policy, technology, and practice.  Panelists include executives from Sanofi, Envivo Pharmaceuticals, Google Ventures, Morgan Stanley, Healthcare Royalty Partners , PatientsLikeMe, Quintiles, United Therapeutics, Kids v Cancer, Teva Pharmaceuticals, SAS Center for Health Analytics, Partners HealthCare, Oliver Wyman’s Health and Life Sciences Practice, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, and the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions.
