Transite Technology Merges with 3Gtms

CED Member Transite Technology is operating with a new name, having completed a merger with 3Gtms yesterday.

The newly merged company will operate using the name 3Gtms, and the company will retain Mitch Weseley as CEO. Transite Technology partner and COO Les Hamashima is now Vice President of Marketing at 3Gtms. Financial details of the merger have not been released.

"The merger enables us to aggressively grow a new company that is focused on having the highest levels of satisfaction in the industry," said Hamashima in an interview. "We are already engaged with our current customers, already winning deals and the development team is hard at work to bring fresh solutions to the market."

According to Hamashima, the merger ensures that the combined company will utilize fundamental parts of the Transite platform, and has the leadership, team and resources needed to innovate and to become the dominant transportation management system (TMS) used by mid-market shippers, 3PLs and carriers.

“This is exciting news for Transite customers and for the transportation software market as a whole," said Mitch Weseley, CEO of 3Gtms, in a statement. "We are doubling the size of the company, almost overnight, to meet the growing demand for our products and to drive improvement and innovation throughout the company."

The team immediately doubles in size to 20. Hamashima expects the company to continue to grow and hire in the Raleigh-Durham market.

The headquarters location will be the 3Gtms office in Connecticut, with the office in Raleigh retaining all 10 of the Transite employees.
