Contactology Expands Again, Moving to Downtown Durham

Contactology, a provider of email marketing software as a service (SaaS),  announced today that it is moving its offices to a new, larger location in Durham.

The move to City Place, 501 Washington St., allows Contactology to accommodate rapid growth and an expanding client base.

“In the past few years, Contactology has experienced solid growth,” said Drew Adams, CEO and co-founder in a statement on Monday. “Our new downtown Durham offices will allow us to continue our expansion while remaining true to Contactology’s core values of providing the highest level of service and support to our customers.”

In 2012, Contactology’s servers sent more than 2.1 billion email messages on behalf of clients. That number represents a sharp increase — 168 percent — from the year before.

Contactology is an organically grown, bootstrap-funded company founded in 2002 in Hillsborough, N.C., as web development firm Sourcekit LLC. In 2006, SourceKit became Contactology, and the company shifted its focus to email marketing software. Since then, Contactology has seen significant year-over-year earnings increases, resulting in the company’s continued expansion.

In 2011, the company moved to downtown Durham offices at 316 Holland Street Mall, doubling its office space. Contactology has now outgrown that space, necessitating the move to City Place.

Email marketing remains the “killer app” for marketers outpacing all other channels, including social media in reach and return on investment. An influential 2011 study by the Direct Marketing Association has found the ROI of email to be nearly $41 for every $1 spent.

As Contactology’s client base has expanded, the company has increased its capacity for customer support, account management and software development.

“With Contactology, our customers know they are getting attention and support as well as a feature-rich, scalable email marketing platform,” Adams said in a statement. “We like to say we turn our customers into email marketing ‘superheroes.’ This year will bring our customers even more exciting features as we continue to evolve and grow.”

Contactology’s platform includes a white label email marketing option, enterprise-level capabilities for any size organization and a robust API for integrations.
