North Carolina Technology Association Names SciQuest Public Company of the Year

CED Mentor Partner SciQuest, Inc., a provider of cloud-based spend management solutions, today announced the company was named Public Company of the Year by The North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA). SciQuest was honored with the award at NCTA’s annual 21 Awards Gala on November 8.

The NCTA 21 Awards is North Carolina's only statewide technology awards program, recognizing companies and individuals who have characterized excellence, innovation and leadership in 21 categories. The Public Company award recognizes a technology company with sustained growth, solid operating results and stock price appreciation. Other finalists in the Public Company category with SciQuest included Accenture, Cisco, Lenovo and Red Hat.

“We are honored to receive NCTA’s Public Company of the Year award,” said Stephen Wiehe, president and CEO of SciQuest. “SciQuest has had an outstanding year in which we have continued to add a significant number of technology jobs, while also adding to our product portfolio with new and enhanced solutions in Accounts Payable, Contract Management and Spend Analysis. North Carolina is a great state for the technology sector, and we’re pleased to play a role in that innovation.”

“Since 1995, the NCTA 21 Awards has honored excellence and innovation throughout North Carolina, representing the best and brightest,” said Brooks Raiford, president and CEO of NCTA. “As a winner, SciQuest has distinguished itself as one of the state’s technology leaders and we are proud to recognize them as a winner of the Public Company award.”

This latest recognition caps off a year of consistent growth, as SciQuest has expanded its employee base both organically and with the acquisition of two companies, Upside Software in July and Spend Radar in September.
