Contactology Announces 'Email Accelerator' Program for NC Startups

CED Member Contactology, a provider of Email Marketing Software, recently announced the Email Accelerator Program, which offers a one-year free subscription to Contactology’s email marketing software exclusively to North Carolina technology startups.

The program offers a boost to new companies that are either based in North Carolina or participate in a North Carolina-based incubator. In addition to free email marketing software, the Email Accelerator includes personal consultation to help startups launch and maintain a robust email marketing program.

“Ten years after starting our business and writing our first lines of code, Contactology is thrilled to have a chance to help other tech-based companies thrive,” said Drew Adams, Contactology’s chief executive officer and co-founder. “North Carolina is a great place for tech, and although we have thousands of users now and more than a dozen employees, we still feel like members of this startup community.”

“North Carolina has a vibrant and growing community of technology startups,” said Brian Handly, an operating partner in the investment firm Frontier Capital and a successful tech founder and chief executive. “Email is often an essential marketing element of growing a technology-based company, and Contactology’s Email Accelerator Program offers an opportunity for companies to jump-start their growth.”

The Email Accelerator offers absolutely free use of the Contactology email marketing platform for up to 5,000 active contacts. The program includes full customer support, website sign-up forms and a branded email template. A Contactology email marketing expert will also help program participants with the hows and whys of an effective email program. After 12 months, there is no obligation.

Startup companies typically must choose where and how to spend limited marketing dollars. Early on is exactly the right time to incorporate email campaigns in a company’s growth strategy, Adams said.
“Email offers incredible return on its investment,” Adams said. “The time to start growing your contacts list is when you start your company.  Building a strong base of advocates for your brand is important and email is a central way of keeping in touch with them.”

An often-cited 2011 report by the Direct Marketing Association found that email marketing returns $40.56 for every dollar spent.

Contactology’s email marketing platform is ideal for many technology-based startups because of how easy it is for developers to integrate other applications with Contactology.

“A key part of the success of new applications is the ability to communicate regularly with users, and email is an important part of that communication channel,” Adams said. “Contactology’s robust API allows seamless and simple integration with other applications.”

The Email Accelerator is open to companies that:

  • Have a core focus of selling technology (Software, Hardware or Software as a Service) or scientific discovery aimed towards commercialization
  • Are less than 3 years old
  • Have less than $1 million in trailing 12 months revenue.
  • Have no more than 12 employees.
  • Are based in North Carolina or participate in a North Carolina incubator or accelerator.
