Economic developers take 'Work in the Triangle' campaign to BIO

Economic developers from the Triangle are taking their "Work in the Triangle" campaign to Boston for the 2012 BIO International Convention.

The recently launched program designed to attract talented workers to the Triangle Region of North Carolina will conduct a virtual job fair and is also showcasing the region's life science companies at a booth at the convention, which runs through Friday.

Numerous job openings at life science firms in the Triangle will be posted for review by conference attendees. Among those are 20 openings in research and development at Syngenta.

“While there are so many talented professionals already living and working for bioscience companies in the Triangle, this campaign is as much about tomorrow as it is today,” said Jennifer Bosser, assistant executive director for Wake County Economic Development, which is one of the drivers behind the work force recruitment effort.

“This initiative is really a proactive way to keep our talent pipeline strong for our growing bioscience industry and companies that are thriving in our region, while assisting them in filling any of their immediate openings," she added. "It is also helping us showcase what makes the Triangle such an attractive place to work, live, learn and play.”

Job openings also will appear on Twitter (@WorkTriangleNC) and hashtags #BIO2012 and #workinthetriangle.

More than 500 life science companies are based in or have operations across the Triangle.
