LipiView Helps Eye Care Physicians Visualize Dry Eye Patients’ Tear Films
Morrisvile, N.C.,—May 31, 2011—TearScience, Inc., a privately-held medical device company, today announced that its LipiView® Ocular Surface Interferometer has received the Medical Design Excellence Award from UBM Canon. The LipiView provides eye care physicians with a new, in-office tear film procedure for dry eye patients, which takes less than 5 minutes.

The Medical Design Excellence Awards competition is the only awards program that exclusively recognizes contributions and advances in the design of medical products cleared for marketing by the FDA. Entries are evaluated on the basis of design and engineering features.
